Validation by Educational Experience (VEE) is a required component of the SOA's ASA designation, ensuring all candidates have sufficient knowledge in fields related to actuarial work, in the form of university classes. 

A minimum of 2 SOA preliminary exams must be passed before VEE applications can be processed.
